SB RESIDENCE
02 / 2025
Nestled in the White House Gardens area of St. Peters, this modern residence thoughtfully engages with its sloping terrain. The site, characterized by an 18-foot slope from East to West along its primary axis and bordered by an Eastern Mountain range with mountain slopes also rising in the North and West, informed a design that begins with a clean rectangular form anchored on the higher eastern side. As it extends westward, the building gracefully diverges into two distinct rectangular volumes with one projecting beyond the other. This deliberate geometric articulation strategically creates unobstructed view corridors towards the Caribbean Sea to the south for both the master bedroom and the living spaces.
The design embraces a modern architectural language, characterized by clean, crisp lines and glazing to maximize natural light and views. It also subtly responds to the site by incorporating subtle design elements and a terraced outdoor space to further connect the dwelling with its context. The resulting residence is a sophisticated interplay of geometric clarity within its mountainous setting.
