Jamal Lewis
Founder and Principal
Jamal Lewis is an Architect with over 17 years of experience working in the built environment. He has a bachelor's degree in Architecture from London South Bank University. Jamal graduated with First Class Honours, the Departmental Final Year Prize for Undergraduate Architecture and the Degree Studio Student Prize in Recognition of Excellence in Design awarded by the South London Society of Architects, all a testament to his passion for design excellence and drive to push boundaries and explore new possibilities.
In 2023, Jamal pursued a certification in LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and is certified as a LEED Green Associate. Being environmentally responsible and socially conscious is important to JLDW.
Jamal is passionate about creating buildings that acknowledge and understand their histories, whilst creating something entirely new, in order to serve communities into their futures. With experience in residential, commercial and institutional projects, Jamal believes in an integrative design process from an early stage in which there is intense collaboration not only with Clients to understand their needs and design spaces that are both functional and beautiful but also with other project team Consultants to give the project the greatest chance of success.
